Been Using Your Bulk Bag Discharging Station for Three Months? You've Probably Run Into at Least Three of These Five Issues

When you first got your bulk bag discharging station, everyone thought, "Finally, no more dusty, messy work." But three months later, you've probably realized it's not quite as flawless as it seemed. Here are five common issues you've encountered at least three of them.

Issue 1: Dust still escapes during discharge

Check the sealing ring at the sealing interface to make sure it's in good condition. Often, the problem is simply that material has stuck to the sealing ring and is preventing a proper seal. Just wipe the sealing ring clean after each discharge. It's a lot easier than replacing it with a new one.

Issue 2: The bulk bag never lines up with the interface when lowering it down

The forklift operator has to keep adjusting the position every time they place a bag, which wastes time and effort. Check whether the guide devices around the interface are deformed or loose. You can also add positioning marks near the interface to give the forklift operator a clear reference point.

Issue 3: There's still a lot of material left in the bag after discharging

The self-adjusting inflation system isn't working properly. Check that the air supply is turned on and that the air bladder isn't leaking. This system is designed to expand the bag from the inside, loosening the folds and shaking out the powder trapped in the corners. If the bladder isn't inflating, the residual rate will go way up.

Issue 4: The discharge rate keeps getting slower

Material has built up on the inner walls of the discharge hopper, reducing the effective opening. This is especially noticeable when handling hygroscopic materials. Regularly cleaning the inner walls of the discharge hopper is a must, don't wait until something breaks to deal with it.

Issue 5: The tie cord won't pull out when opening the bulk bag

The tie cord is either pinned down by the material or caked with it. Don't yank on it, pulling too hard can snap the cord and send pieces falling into the material. Instead, keep a dedicated safety cutter on hand and cut the cord cleanly at the base, it's much more reliable.
